Celebrating Outgoing Board Members

With deep appreciation for their hard work and dedication, the Cville Pride Board announces that founders Amy-Sarah Marshall and Lisa Green have stepped down from their positions as President and Festival Director respectively.

After helping to found Cville Pride and lead the organization for the last nine years, Amy-Sarah and Lisa have decided to dedicate more time to their family (particularly since they are on the verge of having 2 teenagers!). Amy-Sarah remains a board member-at-large and continues to grow Safe Cville, Cville Pride’s safe-space training program.

Cville Pride could not have existed or continued on without the dedication of these two amazing women. We, the other board members, would like to recognize the immense time, energy, and dedication that Amy-Sarah and Lisa have given to Pride in its mission to reach and support the entire LGBTQ+ community in Charlottesville and surrounding area.

Amy-Sarah has been our intrepid leader for the past nine years, devoting an immeasurable amount of time to the organization and the cause in general. Whether it is speaking to the media, fielding inquiries, helping to design programs, or spearheading our publicity and promotional efforts, Amy-Sarah has served as a brilliant bridge between our organization and the community at large.

Lisa has given her knowledge of the finer details (hello, insurance and permits!), endless hard work, and even occasionally her literal blood, sweat, and tears to make each Cville Pride Festival a fun, free, and family-centered event. Each year, she has been the first person on the festival grounds, sporting her bright orange Director polo, and always the last to leave. We will miss her terribly.

All of us at Cville Pride thank Amy-Sarah and Lisa for their nine years of service to our board and the community. Cville Pride would not be the organization it is today without their hard work, dedication, and passion. Looking forward, organizational change won’t keep Cville Pride from continuing to support and celebrate our beautiful local LGBTQ+ community.
