What is Safe-Space Training?
A 60-90 minute safe-space training introduces your business or organization to terminology and concepts of sexual orientation and gender identity, drawing from statistics relating to the culture, discrimination, legal status, historical context, and challenges that define, relate to, and inform the LGBTQ community increase cultural sensitivity and encourage respect and empathy.
We can tailor the training to your specific needs. Trained organizations can showcase their status as a safe space with stickers, get listed on the Cville Pride website, and enjoy other promotions.
What Exactly is a “Safe Space”?
We distinguish between places that are “welcoming” and places that are “safe.”

SafeCville has trained churches, nonprofit agencies, healthcare organizations, schools, and businesses of all sizes. We also offer public trainings for individuals on an ad-hoc basis.

Costs & Terms
The basic fee for a safe-space training for a group or organization:
$200 – Training for 1 – 49 people
$350 – Training for 50 – 149 people
$500 – Training for 150 – 300 people
We do offer reduced-cost or free trainings when price is prohibitive. For a safe-space training discount: Contact the Cville Pride treasurer.
NOTE: Safe-space stickers will only be given if 50% of your staff receives training.
