Why are you performing at Pride?
For years, Charlottesville has been one of my favorite places to visit. The view of the nearby mountains combined with the hospitality of the small town creates a safe haven in my mind. This year marks the third consecutive year that I will be appearing to celebrate and support the pride of not only myself but the pride that radiates from the people of a town that supports me.
What motivates you to be an artist in general?
In my opinion, artistry talent is not something that can be acquired. The talents of being an artist is a gift that one is born with. I am continuously motivated to be the best version of myself that I can be and aspire daily to be the person that I want to become. By gathering inspiration from fellow artists and learning by observing their achievements and failures, I believe this is possible.
What do you want Pride festival attendees to take away from your performance?
My hope is that my performance, combined with personal interaction, will inspire others to be kind. Today, we live in a world that daily degrades its cohabitants. Together, I believe that we as a community, one kind act at a time, can change the world.
