Young Families Playdate

What: Informal playtime for LGBTQ parents & their younger kids

Where: Belmont Park (splash pad and playground)

When: Saturday, Sept. 9, 10am – 12pm

Kick off Cville Pride Week by seeing old friends and meeting new ones. See the LGBTQ Families Facebook page.


3rd Annual LGBTQ Youth Pride Picnic

Where: Washington Park

When: Saturday, Sept. 9, 3-7pm

What: Over 100 teens from throughout Central Virginia came last year – let’s do it again! See old friends and make new ones. Free food, resources, and games. Parents welcome to stay and chat, too.


Queens Who Read

Where: Central Library, JMRL, downtown Charlottesville

When: Monday, Sept. 11, 6:30pm

What: The fantastic Dreama Belle will lead a storytime celebrating diversity and self-expression to entertain the young ones.


6th Annual Cville Pride Festival

Where: Charlottesville downtown Sprint Pavilion

When: Sept. 16, 11am-7pm

What: For the younger set, there’s a bouncy castle, balloons, face painting, rainbow crafts, more!

Teens will enjoy the music and entertainment, the food trucks, the resources. It’s a festival for everyone who wants to celebrate equality and affirm the value and beauty of each of us!
